Mount Elgon is an extinct shield volcano on the border of Uganda and Kenya, north of Kisumu and west of Kitale. The mountain's highest point, named "Wagagai", is located entirely within Uganda. Mt Elgon was once Africa’s highest mountain, far exceeding Kilimanjaro’s current 5,895m. Millennia of erosion have reduced its height to 4,321m, relegating it to the 4th highest peak in East Africa and 8th on the continent.

Nevado Tres Cruces is a massif of volcanic origin in the Andes Mountains on the border of Argentina and Chile. It has two main summits, Tres Cruces Sur at 6,748 metres (22,139 ft) and Tres Cruces Centro at 6,629 m (21,749 ft) and a third minor summit, Tres Cruces Norte 6,030 m (19,780 ft).

Mount Stanley is located in the Rwenzori Mountains range. At an altitude of 5,109 m (16,763 feet), its the utmost mountain feature of the Democratic Republic Congo and Uganda. It also takes the third highest position in the whole of Africa Kilimanjaro at 5,895 metres and Mount Kenya at 5,199 metres.

Mount Cho Oyu is the world’s sixth highest mountain. This is the westernmost major peak in the Khumbu Sub region along the Mahalangur range. Cho Oyu stands on the border between Nepal and China. The peak lies in the Mahalangur sub range of the Nepal Himalayas. It elevates to a height of 8,201 m or 26,906 feet.

Tirich Mir in Pakistan, which stands at 7,708 meters (25,289 feet), is the highest peak of the range. The range features rugged terrain with deep valleys and high, snow-covered peaks, making it a formidable barrier.

The Pyrenees is a mountain range in southwest Europe that forms a natural border between Spain and France, extending about 491 kilometers (305 miles) from the Bay of Biscay in the west to the Mediterranean Sea in the east.

K2, at 8,611 metres (28,251 ft) above sea level, is the second-highest mountain on Earth, after Mount Everest at 8,849 metres (29,032 ft). It lies in the Karakoram range, partially in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan-administered Kashmir and partially in the China-administered Trans-Karakoram Tract in the Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County of Xinjiang.
