Maria Theresien Platz 1010 Wien, Austria Last Updated: 04/02/2025 |
Maria-Theresien-Platz is a large public square in Vienna, Austria, that joins the Ringstraße with the Museumsquartier, a museum of modern arts located in the former Imperial Stables. A huge Habsburg monument to the square’s namesake sits at the centre, flanked by two magnificent museums and surrounded by a handful of fountains just to add that watery je ne sais quoi to proceedings. | |
Maria-Theresien-Platz square has the monumental Kunsthistorisches art museum on one side, which always features a wonderful year-end exhibition. The opposite side has the equally-monumental Naturhistorisches natural history museum. |
