Mount Karthala is an active shield volcano located on the southern part of Grande Comore Island, which is part of the Union of the Comoros in East Africa. With an elevation of 2,361 meters (7,746 feet), it is the highest point in the Comoros and one of the most active volcanoes in the world.
Moheli Marine Park is a protected area located in the Comoros Islands, specifically on the island of Moheli. It was established in 2001 and covers an area of approximately 400 square kilometers (154 square miles) of coastal and marine environments, including coral reefs, seagrass beds, and mangrove forests.
