| Glades County is situated in the Florida Heartland region of Florida, formed on April 23, 1921, from parts of DeSoto County. The county is named after the Florida Everglades, although much of its landscape consists of prairie and pinelands. As of the 2020 census, Glades County had a population of 12,126, making it the fourth-least populous county in Florida, with a density of approximately 16 people per square mile. | |
