Kabul is the capital and largest city located in the eastern part of Afghanistan, in the central highlands of the country. It is situated in the Kabul River Valley at an elevation of approximately 1,800 meters (5,900 feet) above sea level. According to 2023 estimates, the population of Kabul was 5 million people.
Darul Aman Palac is a three-story-tall palace located in Darulaman, which about 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) south-west of the centre of Kabul, Afghanistan. In 2002, the Afghan government announced plans to rebuild the palace. The reconstruction project is being funded by the Japanese government and is expected to be completed in 2023.
