| Penn Yan is an incorporated village and the county seat of Yates County, New York. The population was 5,056 at the 2020 census. It lies at the north end of the east branch of Keuka Lake, one of the Finger Lakes. The Village and surrounding area provide recreational opportunities and lodging all year long for all ages. | |

| Standing proudly on Main Street in Penn Yan is the anchor building of the Yates County History Center, the Oliver House Museum, one of four buildings comprising the YCHC. The Center, formerly Yates County Genealogical & Historical Society, is one of the oldest in NYS, has been actively collecting, preserving and interpreting history since 1860. | |
