Lake County is a county located in the geographical center of the State between the Florida Cities of Orlando and Ocala. The County contains over 1,000 lakes and 202 square miles of water. As of the 2020 census, the population was 383,956. Its county seat is Tavares, and its largest city is Clermont.

Alexander Springs Recreation Area is located in the Ocala National Forest near the beautiful, turquoise waters of Alexander Springs. With forested scenery and abundant water, the recreation area offers camping, swimming, canoeing, scuba diving (for certified divers), hiking, birding and wildlife viewing.
