Luxor Temple is an ancient temple complex located on the east bank of the Nile River in the city of Luxor, Egypt. It was built over 3,000 years ago, during the New Kingdom period of ancient Egypt, and is one of the most impressive and well-preserved temple complexes in the country. The Luxor temple was built by Amenhotep III (1390-52 BC).
The Luxor temple was completed by Tutankhamun (1336-27 BC) and Horemheb (1323-1295 BC) and then added to by Rameses II (1279-13 BC). Toward the rear is a granite shrine dedicated to Alexander the Great (332-305 BC).

The temple was dedicated to the god Amun, the king of the gods in ancient Egyptian religion, and was used for important religious ceremonies and festivals. It was also used as a site for coronations and other important royal events.

Luxor Temple is known for its stunning architecture and intricate carvings, which feature detailed depictions of gods, pharaohs, and other important figures from ancient Egyptian mythology and history. The complex includes several different sections, including the main temple, a courtyard, and a series of smaller chapels and shrines.
