Lowville is a village in Lewis County, New York, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 3,470. Lowville is the county seat of Lewis County. Nestled in the Black River Valley between the foothills of the Western Adirondack Mountains and the Tug Hill Plateau, Lowville is the economic hub of Lewis County.
This mainly agricultural region has a long history of farming and includes a number of businesses and manufacturing plants, including Kraft Foods — the largest cream cheese manufacturing plant in the world.
