| The Meidum Pyramid, located about 65 km south of Cairo, near the Faiyum region, is an important archaeological site in Egypt. Believed to have been built during the transition period from the 3rd to the 4th Dynasty, it is often attributed to Pharaoh Huni and later completed by Pharaoh Sneferu. | |
| Originally designed as a stepped pyramid, the Meidum Pyramid underwent modifications to transform it into a true pyramid with smooth, flat sides. However, these changes led to structural instability, resulting in the collapse of the outer layers. Today, the pyramid is approximately 65 meters tall, although it was originally around 91.65 meters. The site also includes several mud-brick mastabas and a smaller satellite pyramid to the south. Notably, the Meidum Pyramid is considered the first flat-sided pyramid in Egypt, marking a significant advancement in ancient Egyptian architectural design. | |
