Kuressaare Castle, also known as the Bishop's Castle of Kuressaare, is a castle in Kuressaare on the island of Saaremaa, in western Estonia. Construction of the castle began in the 14th century by the Livonia Order, a medieval religious and military order. It served as both a defensive fortress and an administrative center.
