The Kumbum Monastery, also known as Ta’er Temple, is a popular Tibetan Buddhist monastery located in the city of Xining, Qinghai Province, China. It is one of the six great monasteries of the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism and is renowned for its historical and cultural significance.
Qinghai is an inland province in Northwestern China. It is the largest province of China (excluding autonomous regions) by area and has the third smallest population with its capital and largest city being Xining. Its population was 5,923,957 in 2020.
