Mount Lassen, located in northern California, is a prominent volcanic peak in the Cascade Range. Officially known as Lassen Peak, it is the southernmost active volcano in the Cascades and part of Lassen Volcanic National Park. Lassen Peak stands at 10,457 feet (3,187 meters).
- The volcano last erupted between 1914 and 1921, making it one of the most recent volcanic eruptions in the contiguous United States until Mount St. Helens in 1980. It is considered an active volcano, though currently in a dormant phase. The park contains numerous geothermal areas, including Bumpass Hell, with steaming fumaroles, boiling mud pots, and hot springs.

- The trail to Lassen Peak's summit is a popular hike offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. There are several campgrounds within the park, including Manzanita Lake and Summit Lake. During winter, the area is popular for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.

- The park supports diverse ecosystems ranging from dense forests to alpine meadows. Wildlife includes black bears, mule deer, and a variety of bird species.
